1968 442 project for sale Middletown Ohio

I have decided to put my 68 Olds project up for sale. I have too many projects (the 62 Starfire and a victorian house) so something has to go. Here is all the info I have on her, and if you PM me I can send a lot of picts or anything you want.

The car runs but does not drive. It has a 1970 F block 455 (HEI conversion) with a th400 out of a mid 70s Caddy. The car stopping going into reverse a few weeks ago, but goes forward. Has a 750 cfm edelbrock carb, hooker headers and chrome valve covers. Power steering and power brakes. The brakes need gone though and the rear end needs seals (car was sitting for awhile). The car has a KY title and is a true (34487 Lansing) 442.

VERY VERY minimal rust. There is some visible surface rust in front of the pass. rear quarter, the very front edge of the hood has some tiny rust holes, and the quarters/fenders are in good shape. There are 2 spots the size of a quarter of rust on the lower parts of the pass. door (rust bubbles). The front floor pans where your set were replaced when I purchased the car. The trunk floor has the worst rust, about 5 inches long and the width of a pencil toward the middle. Previous owner didn't put the strip caulk around the tail lights when the paint was put on, so water leaked in there. Also, some of the body sealer came off around the inner rear fender wells and there is minor rust there. The entire trunk has some kind of undercoating sprayed on it and its peeling off. I have picts of it all for anyone interested.

The interior is black and door panels are newer reproductions and are in good shape. The rear seat is orig and has its orig black upholstery in good shape. The bucket seats need recovering (come with new seat covers, but need dyed bec they are gold). The dash pad is in perfect shape, but it is also gold and needs dyed. The car needs a new headliner, but it will come with one. I have all the dash parts, they are just not installed (column shift spedo, idiot lights, and a blank pod that had an aftermarket tach stuck in it).

The car was originally a column shift car, but was converted to an aftermarket ratchet shifter. Non ac, manual window car. All the glass is in great shape, all the trim is great except the long piece on top of the driver fender (it has a few tiny dents). Paint is driver quality and has some chips (where a door was opened into the quarter ). The pass. quarter has a few TINY dents, and there is a dent on the deck lid the size of a dime. The deck lid otherwise is in great shape. The frame is perfect, and underside is perfect. No visible rust or rust though. SSI wheels are in great shape as well. Bumpers are dent free but need rechromed.

Any questions pls PM me and I will get back to you.. I am asking $6,500 or best reasonable offer. I also have extra parts available that I bought for the car that can be purchased separately if interested (Rally pack gauges, under dash harness set up for gauges, x/y manifolds).

Any questions PM me.

Just a piece of friendly advice, you may want to post the asking price in the ad. You will probably get more responses that way.

Sorry about that I missed it the first time. It's even BOLD! Good grief. I can't believe I missed it. $8k seems very reasonable. Good luck with sale.

Yep, thanks Mat. I should have made it more clear. If she sells close to my asking price, I will throw in an orig console/shifter and floor shift spedo.

and thanks Jon. It is a good project car to finish up. The only reason why I am selling is bec my Starfire is further along and I only have a 3 car garage. I have to park the new car outside, and that isn't sitting well with the wife

Yes correct. I didn't change color though. Previous owner had the paint done.
