1970 Cutlass Supreme Convertible

EDIT 7/11/2014 The car is sold. Here's a link to a picture of it all loaded up ready to go to Arizona. https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/1...22118543708819 Quite possibly the best looking $9000 A-body convertible in the country, LOL!

EDIT 7/7/2014: Sale PENDING...I have a deposit and agreed to hold the car through the 14th of this month. Will update success/failure of the sale as the case may be.

OK, I'm moving at the end of the month and have to sell my 1970 Cutlass Supreme convertible. I'll be losing my storage so it has to go. This is a nice driver quality car. It needs a few things done yet to be really finished.

http://www.autotraderclassics.com/fi...l?adId=1568029

And some more pictures: https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/1...54431865665441

Be sure and click the "more" button towards the bottom of the first page of pictures.

PM me or contact my by email through the ad. If this isn't sold by the end of the month for a reasonable price I'll have to donate it to charity and let them dispose of it.

I don't think you should have any problem selling your car - nice photos. I wish yours had been available before I bought mine. Good luck with the sale.

Using Internet Explorer, I see that too. When I use Chrome, it works fine. Not sure what the issue is.

I'm using Firefox. I have IE on my computer, but I haven't yet installed Chrome. But you should fix it so it works in all major browsers as you're trying to sell a car, after all.

This is the link you want:

https://plus.google.com/u/0/10602242...3708819/photos

If this car sells, and the person who buys it didn't use Chrome, I expect a cut of the proceeds!

Thanks! I still can't get it to work in IE though.

As long as other people can see it, that works for me! Also here's a link that goes directly into the album: https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/1...54431865665441

I sure hope you don't have to resort to this as you'll take a bath, money-wise. If you donate it and value it at your $9,000 asking price (and you may have to prove this to the IRS by showing them an appraisal), you can deduct it as a charitable contribution IF you itemize deductions. It would reduce your tax liability by the car's value multiplied by the tax bracket you're in.

If you're in the 25% tax bracket (income more than $36,900 but less than $89,350), donating the car will save you only 0.25 x $9,000, or $2,250, which is peanuts. You would come out ahead by selling it for as little as $1 more than this.

The bottom line is that donating it should be your very, very last resort.

Not so far--right out my back door! Or just a quick airplane ride for some lucky buyer!

I know, I've already been through that exercise. My problem is the limited amount of time I have to get this thing sold. Nobody around here seems to have any money. Oh, and I've heard from lots of scammers who want me to accept PayPal then cut a money order for the shipping and send off to their shipper. Uh, no. Apparently that's a very common scam right now. I can also try an ebay auction, I suppose. I'll hang tight for a couple of weeks before I do anything desperate.

That is a GIFT!!!! So far, the only thing I see wrong at that price is the PRICE---the low price could actually scare some people away. I had it happen on '72 U-code 442. Everybody thought something was wrong because I priced it under the market.

This car does need some work. The two biggest issues are the transmission main seal needs replaced and the top needs adjustment. All the other issues are noted in the comments of the pictures. I've tried to be extremely open and honest about the remaining issues the car has. What I love about the car is that the wiring harness was never hacked...all the lights work including the console light and console courtesy lights. And of course that pearl interior with bucket seats and console looks great with the blue paint.

Oh, I also have a new set of Legendary assembled door panels to replace the PUI panels currently installed, a complete set of manuals (chassis, body, and assembly), some better quality armrest bases, and some other miscellaneous parts and bits that are included

Sale now PENDING!!!!

OK, as of today, 7/7/2014 I have accepted a deposit on the car and agreed to hold it through the 14th.

I will update this thread either way, if the sale fails or goes through.

Thanks everybody for all the interest, help, and encouragement as I go through this process. If the sale goes through, I'm pretty sure the new owner will join the forum, he seems quite eager.

Excellent. I'm not surprised the car didn't last long. It looks good, and the price is fair.

Just heard from my buyer, he's about 2 hours out. Should be here by suppertime. He's stopping by Uhaul first to pick up a trailer so I think he's serious about buying.

Well, she's gone!

Super nice guy named Dennis, from Tucson took the car away just minutes ago. Thanks for your interest and help, everybody.
