1968 Cutlass S 455/4spd manual on cl

I don't usually waste time posting other peoples CL adds but this is a sharp looking car. FWIW she has been knocking down the price on a daily basis trying to sell it seems. http://chicago.craigslist.org/wcl/cto/4473295937.html

Nice looking car, but why do people put that much money into a car like this and keep the tiny drum brakes? The alternator in the A/C position is interesting given that this is a non-A/C car. Apparently the brackets came from the 455's donor car. I wonder if the crank is drilled for a pilot bearing or if they used a conversion bushing.

Wow. Except for some underhood items, I like everything about this car from what I can see in the pics. Great color combo and stance. Love the '68s (including myself).

X2 on the color and looks of the car, i've been drooling over it since I found the cl listing. I just bought a white 69 cutlass with a restored black interior and would LOVE to have the burgundy/black interior combo.

Since CL ads evaporate rapidly, let's bring along some info:

"68 Olds Cutlass S 455 4spd manual - $15500 (Winfield)

I bought this car 3 years ago and for the last year, haven't really driven it all that much. My ex-husband was the one who would maintain it, and I don't have the money to pay mechanics, so it mostly sits in the garage. She deserves a better home and someone who will take care of her and keep up on the maintenance. I don't want to sell it, but I don't see me getting much use out of it anytime soon.

Most 68 Cutlass' have the 350 with auto. I haven't seen a 68 Cutlass (which is my favorite year) built like this one with a 4 speed manual.

455 c.i. larger cam, roller rockers
engine is built, sounds tough.
edelbrock intake manifold
3" exhaust
cut outs
headers
4 speed manual
gets up and moves
rust free
12 bolt differential
air shocks
new front disc brakes
new rear drum brakes
new master cylinder

so much to list. if your interested and know what this car actually is, come and take a look

beautiful rare car.
turns heads

no tire kickers please

Wow, she's a beauty. Love the color combo. Was a color like that available in '68?

I'm not sure how official this paint chart is for 68 but it looks like burgundy metallic to me.

That looks like the color, or really close at least. I really like this car...I wish I was in a position to buy it. I'd love a 4-speed...I wonder it it's original?
