I've seen this car and it is nice but not totally original. The heads are wrong and the red inner fenders are too nice for OEM,I think they are repo. I do think it is an original W-30.

I think it's the same one that they attempted to auction last fall in Dallas.

IIRC, the car is an original black/red interior'd W-30, but is supposed to have a white vinyl top.

it was hammered "SOLD" at RENO August '13 Barrett-Jackson for $39,050 "all-in"

Note the seam where the cowl and firewall meet is gone. Firewall is smoother than GM ever made them too.

I'm not aware of anyone reproducing the 1967 red inner fenders.

These are reproduced in black plastic as well and would be great instead of the factory metal ones that get dented and rotted. (yes I know the factory installed black plastic ones in a limited quanity in 67) This is why I asked about the fit...

Curious to know the original reason for the plastic inner fenders. Was it simply a way to save a couple of pounds?

I believe plastic did shave a little weight and the red ones were a warning signal and made the W cars look all the meaner! I think late 67 was the start of them and 68 up were mostly all plastic either black or red for the W cars till 1972.

The fitment was definitely a challenge, but i managed to get it done. The worst was the alinement at the bottom corner at rear of fender.

My two guesses would be the plastic ones were cheaper to manufacture????

And easier to mold instead of a metal stamping.

Wayne -- I havent used it yet. Its sitting on an engine cradle awaiting installation in the Ramrod after the restoration is finished.
I've decided to pull the pan and heads and check it all out. He couldnt tell me the deck height or the cc's -- so i will start there.

This sold for $61,000 at the auction. I was there and got to see it in person. Very nice car. Wish I had the money...lol.
