68 and 69 cutlass convertibles 2 cars - $2,800 NOT MINE
If this was anywhere close to be I would DEFINITELY check this out. Alas, its not so I figured I'd post it here to maybe help someone else out just for the parts. Its not my ad.
From the ad....
two RUNNING cars one 350 auto and the 68 is 455 4 speed both have solid frames, and no holes in body or frame.these were my grampas cars both were left to me in will..i have no room to store them so priced to go.both tops work and you can drive them home, brakes may need blead, and 455 is slow to crank over but runs great when started.* both have tachometers, and consoles they will need cleaned up but very solid cars! SORRY NO TRADES OR OFFERS! will be sold as pair.***seats not torn up stop asking!

I ALWAYS stay away from CL adds that you can only email. I've responded to a few email only adds and sure enough have recieved ridiculous spam in my email right after. I made a craigslist only email just for that reason. Hopefully it's true and someone strikes gold but I wouldnt hold my breath.

I'm definitely one to agree with the "if its too good to be true, it probably is" statement but there is always a little pit of treasure hunting possibilities with CL. Here is my "ad breakdown".
Pros:
1) Very specific story. Would a scammer really have a post that detailed about 2 cars? Typically they are like that green car that was always posted, 1 car, same pics, same story, lots of cities.
2) Grandfather will stories can always be legit. The seller might not think he has anything more then a couple dirty cars.
Cons:
1) As mentioned, no phone number. If you really want to sell something you are going to post legit contact info. However, some people don't like posting their number in public.
2) The add is posted talking complaining about people asking about torn seats. Thats seems made up. At that price, most Olds fans wouldn't care about the condition of the seats.
Overall, for those inquiring, be careful. If it turns out to really be this type a deal, I expect a finders fee :-)

"For Sale: Very desirable cars at a fraction of their worth. Please bring cash to the east side of Cleveland and meet me in the alley behind the liquor store." "Damn it, BS, and WTF" all in the same short ad. Not that I don't swear on occasion, but to place it in a for sale ad shows a little with whom you're dealing.
