If the rearend was replaced around 1975 I probably owned the engine and trans from the same wrecked car. If you talk to owner 3, ask if it was a silver W31 out of the Washington, PA area.

Here's first five of current pictures of this car.
The rear end is from a same color W-31 I parted out in 1996. ~BOB

Definitely looks legit to me. I have no problem believing it is real despite the lack of paperwork.

This is getting interesting. If only I had a warehouse instead of a 3 car garage that is in need of a diet.

More trunk pics as requested. I don't have any underside shots. However the underside is completely undercoated more then once years ago. So there's not much to see except lots of black. ~BOB

Sorry I can't buy the car but could you answer a question? Does your trunk splatter paint cover the entire trunk floor or is it just at the edges of the floor?
Thanks.

Wow, a very nice W-31. I'm surprised how nice the repaint and past repair work has stood up, especially since it was done in the 80's - a time when a lot of the body work and paint jobs were not exactly well done on these everyday cars.

Though I was skeptical at the time, it seems that Rusty Jones and Ziebart rustproofing actually worked, as it usually shows on vehicles that had the process done back in the 60's and 70's.

Although i was bitching the whole time when i was trying to remove all the Ziebart undercoating, it did work. My car did have some rust, but not the normal amount for a Canadian car that was driven in many winters. I just welded all the holes in that they drilled for the spray.

Thanks for all who have comments about this car. This is a very nice pampered car it's whole life. Your welcome to see it and deside for yourself. It is in my shop right now. the repaint still looks excellent and was obviously done very well. The interior is original and in amazing condition. Also for The Tin Man. Painting a car is generally not considared to be a restoration. ~BOB

It's also not generally considered to be a survivor.

Maybe. So, OK
The original engine and trans survived
All the original body panels survived
All the original glass survived
The original interior including carpet survived
The original wheels survived
I guess the original paint didn't survive. ~BOB

IMO, for that price, that's about as honest as a car you can get! Being a W-31 would be icing on the cake!

What a great car and in my opinion worth every dollar being asked. The car is I'm sure a blast to drive and at around 25 ground is probably also a darn good investment. A comparable Camaro is fifty grand or more and at the time of manufacture was not considered as nice a car.
