wow nice car. I know its a tough economy and I for one have to pass but man here is another car I'm surprised wasn't gone right away. I love the 68 verts, wish I could get it - hmm, send child to college or buy another car?

CONVERTIBLE
real 442 with 344... VIN I assume?
Should get that price easily.
I see a lack of hack - everything looks just right at first glance.

I love this quote - and almost everything does look quite lovely. The splatter paint in the trunk, for example, looks just right.

What's going on with the side-view mirrors - they don't look like stock or H/O...?

What's going on with the "442" in the middle of the dash (under the radio)?

Thank you -

real deal 442. bought new in Baltimore, Md.

the 442 on the dash is a patch I glued on there. when I got the car there was a lot of crap on the ashtray door . so instead of replace it I covered it.

the side mirrors came on it also when I got the car. at the time I didn't know if they were original or not. never was sure. found out about two years ago they are after market.

car is not perfect but very presentable and an excellent driver. 95% of the sheet metal is original. I got this car when I was 19 and had a limited income. It was always garaged when I had it and have tried to keep it as original as possible. now that I am older I think it is time to let it go to someone else that will enjoy it.

thanks scott

Since it hasn't sold, maybe the universe is trying to tell you to keep it.
I sold my first convertible years ago, 1986, & always regretted it.
I was lucky enough to find it on Craigs last year & buy it back, at 4 times what I sold it for...but most aren't so lucky.
Since you have had this 442 since you were 19, you might feel the same as I did after it's gone. Maybe not that day but probably in a little while you will.
I don't know what your situation is, but situations change, mine did about a month after I sold my car. I could have kept it if I had waited just one month & invested a few hundred bucks into it..
So just please be sure you never want to see your beloved 442 again, because most likely you probably won't be as lucky as I was & get a chance to buy it back 27 years later.

goodkarmech what you say is very true. I don't know if I'm doing the right thing or not. money is not really an issue its just that I do not use the car. It sits in the garage all the time. I drove it maybe 6 times all summer. I love the car but maybe time for someone else to enjoy. probably will regret it. thanks for the input. scott
