Odd that there's no picture of the unique roof opened up, or even shown for that matter.

Looks like the original color was most likely Bittersweet? Probably was very nice in its day!

Webasto is a sunroof company that supplies a lot of the car manufactures. I just got back from doing some service work at one of their plants in Lexington, KY.

So a Car dealer went and had a few "special" models made up? sort of like those ugly ny yankee pin stripe fords we see occasionally? I remember there were Novas and Venturas with that kind of option sorta nasty in my opinion.. but being able to open a wagon top would be really cool and a great beach machine... LOL... look pretty cool a couple a surfboards hanging out the top.... ok sorry winter weather getting to me I guess....

You can see the orginal color on one of the back doors, look up by the window.

Still a nice car. I'd buy it if I had the money and room

What winter weather???? 75 degrees in So Cal today! Sorry couldn't resist!

My dad just bought a Hyundai Santa Fe with a retractable roof! It is really cool! My first car was a '66 Buick Sport Wagon with skylight windows, it was a boat but a cool car! (great date car, but I wont go into that!)

Ahhhhh yessssss the ol' ******* Wagon LOL......

I too grew up in the age of the van / truck craze ( if this van is a rockin don't bother knockin, keep on truckin..... Azz gas or gr@ss nobody ride for free etc etc etc )

66 buicks are cool looking too.... I have always been partial to convertibles, t tops moon roofs etc but my least favorite was the pull back cloth sunrof thing we are looking at but if that was all their is fresh air is where it's at...

oh 75 degrees huh, rub it in ya bastid LOL... it is barely 68 inside my house with the heat on LOL...

But at least jersey isn't going to drop off into the ocean.... I tell you as soon as I can retire I am southbound.....

Eddie, We are cut from the same cloth! I am a convertible man these days! The "rocken" is a little more transparent these days!

Good temp to be at "68" my favorite year!

The guys on the Fast N Loud show on Discovery channel just put one of those sunroof set ups in an 81 Rolls Royce on the new show last night. I understand they aren't particularly leak prone but I have to wonder about road noise through the canvas top.
Looks like a decent car.

I notice it has the killer "flipped aircleaner lid mod."

Good for an extra 20hp easy.

ps: Webasto made the sunroofs for all of the old Mercedes, and, I think, VWs.

I had the "Sky Slider" roof on my 2008 Jeep Liberty. The first few weeks I owned it I kept looking over my shoulder thinking a had one of the rear windows cracked open a few inches. The top itself didn't make any wind noise, but it did allow more outside noise in, than a solid metal roof would.

when i was a kid my dad had an early 60's studebaker wagon with a factory sliding roof. it opened from the tailgate to the back seat, you could stand up a fridge in the back and deliver it, kinda cool
