Rallye 350

found this killing time tonight listed on Craigs, price seems low for the amount of work claimed to be done but looks good in pic's.

is this one of those if it seems too good to be true it probably is?

I would think it would have 3.23 gears since it is a non air car, but since it is a manual i could be wrong as well.

The big thing with the R350s is that only a select few are looking for them (was the case in 70 as well i hear too lol). So I think this price is a decent price, especially with mecum/BJ auctions they usually sell for around 25k.

Also kinda weird it has manual brakes...

Price seems too good to be true and the seller has -0- feedbacks. It may be legit but I would sure check this one out.

This has to be a fake ad. It was the same ad for a car that was on eBay a couple of months ago. It was a car that was in AZ that was sold to Chicago I believe. And that car sold for the mid 20's...

I sent him a couple of questions. Is it an original Rallye? Is there anyone on the boards here that could take a look at it for me. I would pay them for their time of course. Shoot, a nice small block 4 speed car is worth 10k. I going to scoop it if it's what he says it is. I even asked him if his price was a typo.
Jersey, thanks for listing this ad BTW.

MY buddy owned this car for about 20 years before it sold to the guy in Arizona. Buddy sold it for 17k and mike from Arizona sold it for 24k. Car has a 4:33 rear end ,1966 muncie 4spd, numbers matching motor. I work on this car for my buddy many of times know the car like the back of my hand.

Scam. Same pictures, same description. Tell him you are local and can be there in 15 minutes. The reply will be something like " Sorry, I'm currently out of the country on business, but we can start the ball rolling if you could send me your account information."

too bad stuff like this happens and there's that element out there looking to prey on people who are really looking for a good buy.

Question to moderator: Is there a way to set up another topic section to list potential scam auto listings (such as this one) so they can be recorded for future reference after it gets debunked as one?

There is a '70 W-30 listed now with the same town, but different eBay ID name that appears to be a scam also. How eBay lets this happen is beyond me. The seller has "0" transactions. Why doesn't eBay have a database (they probably do) to verify that the listing is for a car that was previously listed and either bid or sold for a lot more money. They have to have that capacity and ability, especially on a "0" transaction seller. Keep your eyes on your fries!!!

I just found a Camaro on eBay with the same style listing. New Jersey, "0 transactions" on a "classified ad" that is way too cheap.

I contacted the original lister of the car, Arizonaoven and let him know about the scam using his pictures and text. That's the fastest way to get eBay to pull it, have the wronged party complain.

I only takes a couple clicks and they will look into the listing . I think they do try to stop this sort of action on their site

There were 2 nice Corvettes local on classified ads, a 68 and a 69 for under $10k each here last week. They were on classified ads.
