John Ebbs, he just sold it along with his 68 w-30 convertible to a Florida guy who in turn is flipping them. Seen these cars many times in person. This was also the car that damaged at Russos auction, but has been repaired by new owner very quickly for Mecum

since 442 was an option on 1972, does the vin # still include the 344... designation?

No. Just a W29 on the broadcast card or build sheet designates a 442-optioned car in 1972. The W30s have an X in the VIN for 1972 though.

In my mind this car is more desirable than the 70 W30 at the JB auction and more rare. The car at JB originally sold for 300k and then was returned for questionable documents but this car is the absolute real deal. I had a 72 442 Black with white hood scoops but it didnt look as good as this one!!

Hmmmm....

Conv vs. coupe

High compression vs. low

Stick vs. automatic

Yet the vehicle with the adjectives in the right column is more desirable?

A friend and I went to NY back in I think it was 92 and purchased the 72 W30.It was an original paint documented car with 8000 original miles. The frame has been off the car and recieved a cosmetic restoration.
