1973 Delta 88 convertible

This has been up on ebay before, but it is a nice car.

I like how supposedly relative high-end cars of that era, such as a Delta 88 Royale, can be so low-optioned. This car has no cruise control, no power windows, no power seat, and no power locks. Power locks and windows and cruise control are pretty much standard equipment on all but the basest of base models nowadays and have been for at least the last decade or two.

Still, I wouldn't mind seeing this in my driveway. All I need is a driveway.

That is a clean car. Hope it goes to a good Olds friendly home.

It is very low optioned but I've seen a lot of 88's without much...at least it has a/c!

IMO that's way overpriced for what it is. 73 was a heavy car and the only thing I see as options are AC and bumper guards. IIRC the clock came with the Royale. It also is underpowered with a 350 2bbl smogger. Someone did a nice job painting it back to it's original Honey Beige (code 81) color. No mention of mechanicals or maintenance records in this ad other than what was "preformed" by it's owner. I sure wouldn't trust the spare tire either.

Hmm, seller claims it has power windows. So is that a "power winder" I see on that door panel?

Also at 105K miles I question the credibility of saying it was driven less than 2700 miles/year to get there. Heck, I could say my 120K mile car (which also looks as good as this) was driven less than 3K every year to accumulate that, but that would be a bald faced lie. My car accumulated most of it's miles in the first 8 years of ownership and it's reasonable to expect this car got a lot of it's mileage while it was newer.

You have a telent for understatement, Allan.

That car is fairly undesirable, probably one of the least desirable convertibles out there, is grossly underpowered, has high miles, and is a repaint, so Heaven knows what's under the paint.

For $15,000, the buyer would have to be a brave soul.

You can't go wrong buying one of these for under a grand, though .

Hey, I was just saying what no one else would. But, compared to a certain 73 vert I know about with a ground ripping 260, this one would eat it alive.....get your paint can out and make the guy an offer he can't refuse.

Seems like a nice enough car ... just not seeing a $15K car tho.

I wish more people would lose those factory upper side-body moldings when they do a repaint.

Never thought those brought anything to the table.

To me ... those particular moldings always screamed :

I've got a JC Whitney catalog & I'm not afraid to use it !.
