1965 Jetstar 1 California Car
I'm posting this for my brother, he has it posted on 442.com . I found this car for him back in the late 90's (I think). Anyway he bought it off the original owners Son. Solid Car, rust free.... The guy remembers when his mother brought it brand new & was in the car when she drove it off the lot. See the below post & his contact info..
1/16/2013 1965 Jetstar 1 ready to be restored or enjoyed on weekend cruises. Runs great, 425 been bored 20 over, small cam, currently has a 1970 400 turbo transmission w/ 2500 stall.Has a repaint from Maaco 2001 fair at best. I have the original 65 tranny/variable pitch converter that has been rebuilt. I have 2 sets of wire spoke hub caps, one with 2 bar spinners and a set of 65 steel rims with newish tires. Was ac car, have the components to put back on, plus lots of other parts. Original intake, carb, dist. Call for more details. POSI rear end (3:08) from a 65 98.The car needs a little mechanical TLC. Interior 99% original, and is in good condition for a 65, will send pics on request.I am getting old and have lost interest.Make an offer jamcosw@yahoo.com 720-209-7476, Greensboro NC

I don't think he's interested in another car. My mother gave him her 1965 Jetstar 1 when he turned 16 & got his license back in the 70's. All he did was put Daytona Sport 60's on the rear, a set of Cherry Bombs on the factory dual exhaust & played with the timing. That car ran like a scalded Dog ! He was beating a lot of Muscle cars with it & they couldn't believe it. I was with him one night (3 of us) & he out ran a 1967 442 3 times, before the 442 gave up. Not sure what the deal was with the 442... Long Story short, my brother bounced/wrapped the Jetstar 1 around 2 trees.(he claimed a Vega ran a stop sign) and he had it wide open at the time. 16 years old, of course that the only way to drive them at that age.... We didn't have the means to pull the engine... that sucked. I wanted it, but was too young. Anyway the guy we beat in the 67 442 ended up buying the engine from the junkyard & put in his 67 442.
He always wanted one after that, so I found this Jetstar 1 for him.
