Now VIDEO... Very nice 1972 Cutlass S...no rust ever

There is so much changed since I first posted this car I am starting over with a new ad.

It's a one family owned car. Its a pretty basic car 350 bench seat column shift auto. Does have A/C (not charged but all there) PS and PB. The car was painted about 2 years ago and was a very nice driver quality job. I am very picky about paint and I would still give it a 6.5-7 with 10 being perfection show trailer queen. The car has all original panels and no signs of rust now or ever. I would go as far to say it it is one of the most solid cars I have ever come across. The color is Baroque Gold with white interior. Front and rear seats have a little wear and the rest of the interior is near perfect. Mechanicals are all stock with basic stuff like shocks where replaced at one time. It could use a little TLC like bushings and such.

The car is begging to be built with a 455 swap. It will save you near the cost of it in just body and paint work starting with a average rusty car.

The car runs and drives fine. The only changes are aftermarket radio mounted under the dash, rear speakers and 442 grills. New 17" American Racing Rev wheels 17 x 8 and 17 x 9 235-45 front and 275 40 rear added new dual exhaust, flowmasters, new 442 bumper and trumpet tips.

Now THAT's what I'm talking about! Fantastic sounding car. What exhaust did you put in it? Like to know because that's the sound I'm looking for.

I asked for Flomasters but my exhaust guy recommended these and i am happy I did. Not sure who makes them they were about the same price. My invoice says Vforce

Looks awesome....love the wheels. Did you have to make any modifications to stuff those wheels in there? No clearance issues?

Y'know with so few pics .....

No wonder it hasn't sold yet.

All kidding aside ...

I would re-word that.

It is in fact an a/c car ... which IMHO is a definite step above basic for a Cutlass in 1972.

Some might be reading basic - no mention of a/c & thinking it doesn't have it ...

And not bothering to go any further by not clicking on the link for the pics where they would see it actually does.
(I still clicked on thru regardless - but others may not)

Even if the a/c's inop at the moment I'd still advertise it as an a/c car ... just not working.

I myself have passed/walked away from cars in the past that were non a/c.

Just a thought.

Thanks...after being burned a few times myself over the years I make sure when I sell something there is no question about what arrived on the transport in front of your house. I have even been told a few times a car was even better than I described when arrived at a buyers house.

Thanks tire combo has a ton of room. I could go a lot bigger if I was carefull on my measurements.

Thanks.... I had a cash offer from a dealer Sat night just a few thousand less than my price so I know its just a matter of time. Lots of people want it just have to find the one with cash.

Richard,
Thought you said the AC was fixed. That would likely interest a buyer instead of them having to fix the slow leak you describe in the auction.

Richard,
That's a very nice car. Straight panels, good panel alignment, looks super and just plain solid. Heck, I would just drive it as is and only do a little detailing on a few items. If the engine got tired, which likely won't happen for a while, then I'd consider a 455 or maybe just rebuild the SB and do a few things to bump up the HP. It would really look good with buckets and a console.

Going to see what happens. If it does not move on the auction or shortly after I'm just going to wait it out until spring when lots of people have tax returns burning holes in thier pocket. I may fix the A/C and do a few other things. I have to be very carefull of every dollar I spend on it to keep from getting upside down. I wish I could say I stole it for a few thousand and only have 5K in it with my improvements but that not the case. In reality I have more than double that tied up.

That's exactly what I was thinking.
I wish you the best of luck with the sale.
I'm not looking to get into the market until next spring (when I celebrate the final tuition payment for my youngest kid. Yippee!)

It sold off C/L local ad to a guy from Sweden.

Its funny I have had it posted all over for a couple weeks now without any solid buyers (lots of wishers) and with in 4 hours of selling it I could have sold it two more times.

Thanks. The best part is we will be helping each other in the future. They looked at about 30 cars while here last week and mine was the only one exacty as decribed. They now trust my judgement will pay me to look at cars and broker some deals in the future.

Wow Richard, a buyer and part time employer all wrapped up into one. Can't get much better than that. You've also proven that nice guys don't finish last and that honesty is the best policy. It's unfortunate this world doesn't have more people and companies with the same standards and ethics as you.
