1967 toronado Great car for the money
H.H Sternhagen walked into Sorenson olds back in 1967 and purchased this toronado for his wife Emmy (brass engraved plaque still with car) The dealership was in Stoughton wisconsin (suburb of madison). It spent many years with that couple and then was sold to its second owner who lived in sun praire Wi (another nearby madison suburb) and he kept good care of the car until 2007. I purchased the car from a gentleman who was the third owner and had it from 2007 to present. The car has only clocked 81,000 miles in its life. The color is the original verde green and still retains its original paint on the top portions of the car (hood, roof and trunk) The original laquer has since dried up a bit and is checked. The sides had been repainted at some point and some lower extremity repaires long ago. There is some repairs that would need patching the proper way if one would decide to repaint the car. The area are both lower rear quarters behind the wheel which is so common in any car. There looks to have been some repair before the rear wheels and the driver fender has some bubbling in an odd spot above the wheel lip. The exterior trim is all in very very nice condition. The door handles, trim around the grill, the grille itself and any other trim pieces are really nice and re- usable with a restoration. The tail lamp panel does have some slight bubbling another typical issue with these cars but is not at a point where it would have to be addressed unless one is going for an all out resto. The bumpers have a decent lustre yet and the rear has some bubbling starting here and there. Trunk is solid but has some surface scale under the original tar coated mat under the carpet. I didn't find any holes. The interior has held up well. It is the champagne color (tan) and other than a split rear seam it is in remarkable condition. Midwest cars usually have really nice interiors and this one exemplifies that. The dash is free of cracks or defects. Very nice clear lenses and pit free bezels throughout. Door panels are nice and the trim-chrome is very brilliant. Carpet like all the rest of the interior is original and heel pad-mat is in good shape. Engine is the original 425 it came with and runs great. It cruises down the highway great and it handles well even as it feels like you are floating along. Exhaust and brakes are fine and really mechanically I can't think of anything it needs. The headlight doors open-close as they should and reveal their original all 4 T-3 headlamps still from '67! All the interior creature comforts work: wipers, lights, lighters, trunk release, guages, roller speedo, and all the heater control buttons stay in position when pressed. Overall this is a turnkey get in and go cruiser. It would fare well at the local cruise nights. I have a link to 90 pictures that pretty much sums up any questions one may have about the car. Car is located 90 miles north of chicago in the milwaukee area. 414-688-060four.
