1968/69 Cutlass S convertible
Buddy of mine just dragged this out of a field. It's ROUGH. It has been sitting out in the weather since the mid 70's. Won't try and oversell it, as the car itself is GONE. Totally rotten.
BUT... There are a lot of good parts on it. As it sits right now, it is 100% complete. All the trim is there, and mostly in decent shape. The drivetrain is complete 350/350 auto. column shift with buckets (odd combo?)
It also has a SEARS aftermarket AC system that is complete with compressor, hoses, and the underdash unit.
He's part owner in the family body shop business, but they are way more into old pontiacs & mustangs than Oldsmobiles. He was just going to crush it for scrap, but I asked him if he would hold off a little bit and let me see if anyone here needs it for parts.
His price on it is $400, as he can scrap it out for close to that, so he won't budge much lower on the price, but there's enough trim pieces & a complete convertible top frame in decent shape, all glass appears intact, including a rear back convertible glass. All corner markers/emblems are there and usable with a little cleaning, etc. Right side of the grille & headlights is complete. Left side took a hit way back. it's probably got that kind of value in odd & ends parts, and then the rest could be crushed out to recoup most of that price.
If anyone is interested in it, just shoot me a message, and I'll be glad to try and help out. The car is only 5 minutes away from my house, so I can inspect it in greater detail if needed. Located about 30m north of Cincinnati.

Too far for me (east of Pittsburgh), but 66400 is right. It would be a shame to crush that with the quarter, boot, and windshield moldings and the top frame, motor, and cylinders. That stuff is not too hard to take off and should be easy to sell. Don't forget the convertible top switch, those aren't cheap either if you need one. You could get rid of several more parts as well.
Just hate to see it crushed like it is.

I will have a chat with the owner about everything mentioned here. Thanks a TON for the feedback guys! Might be worth the effort to strip the trim off it & sell just that before he sends it to the crusher.
If anyone wants to talk directly to him about it, PM me a good name/phone number, and I will do my best to help you guys out.

Car has had most of the trim stripped off it as of this point, but still has the complete drivetrain. 350/350auto 2bbl with only about 20K original miles on it. My buddy wants to get it moved off his lot and disposed of, as the car itself is shot. after both doors openeed, it bucked hard, and is quite rotten, but if somenoe wants the drivetrain, it will be available for another week or two. Make offer before it goes to the scrapper. No reasonambe offer refused. And since EVERYONE has asked, no, it is not a disk brake car. (took me til tonight to find out)

I pulled most of the good parts off this car, but here is what is left that might still be good. Pass top of fender trim. Pass headlight housing. Door & quarter glass still there. Windshield still good & uncracked, but a little milky on drivers side. Header panel above windshield. Has a little bubbling above window, but still pretty good. Looks like original 350 2 bbl engine with #5 heads on it. Orig. radiator. Complete Sears aftermarket AC system. Marker lights are all there, but chrome is tired. Bucket seats are there, but frames & springs are horribly rusty. Same with rear seat. About 18" of the seat frame is not there at all. Bumper brackets might be ok. The frame is horribly rusted & I doubt the cross member or boxed sections are any good at all. Rear end is there & about to fall out of the car. All wheels & tires are there & it's a manual drum brake car. Might be a few more small bits & pieces, but if it's metal, it's probably junk.

I had to get back home & did not have time to pull the hood vents. They are just as you describe, tired chrome, but not too pitted up. I don't remember them having any pits, but I didn't study them either. I'm sure he'll sell them to you reasonably.
Good luck.
Good luck.

You posted in the 5 minutes or so it took me to realize this was a 69 & not a 68 (I deleted my post). I'm looking for a pair of cheap hood vents for a 68, sorry about that
