No clue how legit this is, but if it is all complete and a real W-30, it seems to be a decent price.

Saw this as well while searching for Cutlasses around the Indy area
Nice car, definatly worth it if its legit. Not a fan of the interior though, and wonder about the 72' 442 grilles on a 71' but meh. Even a basic Cutlass S in that condition would most likely be good for that price so yeah, its a steal

It's either a 72 or a 71 Clone or "tribute" as they are now calling them, or a scam. No such thing as a 71 Cutlass 442 unless it's a Cutlass made up to look like a 442 or it's a 72 since that's what the front end is telling me. If it is a 72 W30 then it's a scam or the guy doesn't know what he has. Worth a look for anyone in the area however. JMO

Not sure if i'd wanna buy a car from someone that uses those two in the same sentence..

Apart from That,

X2 on it being a 72, the headlight bezels are from 72 as well.

Where is the red inner fender wells?
weren't the W-30's equipped with them ??

well its missing a lot of W30/OAI items under the hood as well and the chrome valve covers look aftermarket as well. But without seeing the VIN or the car up close who knows what it really is. Most 72 W30s had black inner fender wells (if not all - someone can clarify that)

Front bumper has round turn signals isn't that 72 only

No, both 71 and 72. 69-70 had rectangular.

Some were and some weren't. Depends on when the car was built. I remember reading about this in one of the Olds forums. In fact some 71 442's were delivered from the factory with 1 red and 1 black fender liner. FYI, most of the clone 72 442 cars are using repopped red inner liners. In 1972, NONE of the Cutlass line had red liners.

The front clip could be from a 72, which would explain the headlight bezels and grills. But the hood rocket is definitely a 71. More than likely this car is an attempt at a clone. I do not see 442 numbers on the grill.

The dual snorkel air cleaner is not from a Cutlass and the console is not recognizable.

If this is a 71, the rear deck wing is correct, it was not offered on 72 models even though you see a lot of guys putting them on. Personally, I like the look of the wing.

If this is a 71 442, the VIN should help determine that. If it is a 72, its a crapshoot unless there's documentation. It would be nice to see an X or V in the engine slot if it's a 72.

Talked with the guy today, He says its a 71 442. He told me right off the bat its not a w-30 and he isnt going to try to pass it off as real to any one. He mentioned he bought the car the way it is and he didnt have an explanation for the grills and headlight assembly being different.
