72 cs scam

https://www.carsforsale.com/vehicle/details/26799495

I saw this car for sale a few days ago and decided to contact the seller because it sounded to good to be true for $6k. Just as I thought it's a scam. They claim to be in the military and the car is at the Bremerton, Wa Army base. The person states since the car is in a military base with no access payment has to be done through amazon payment like a third party.

I assume that you did the noble thing and contacted the web site and told them about it being a scam?

If the owner was military there would be a windshield sticker to gain access to a military base. I do not see one. Hope you reported this so no one gets cheated.

FWIW, most military bases are going away from the stickers now. It makes identifying service members too easy.

When my wife and I were living in Lawton, OK we both worked on Ft. Sill. Her VW had an expired military sticker on it when we sold it and she had been working on base for years.

If the seller is truly in the service and the car is on a military base then the seller can get you onto the base as an escort by going through the security office. The seller could even have a Battle Buddy / Shipmate / Wingman escort you onto the base to look at the car as well.

If the seller says that they want 3rd party payment though it does sound like a scam.

Contacted and got reply.

Hello,

I've just seen your email. I'm emailing you about my 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, that is in immaculate condition, meticulously maintained, hasn't been involved in any accident, runs and drives excellent and has a clear title. Everything works: lights, gauges, seats, windows, locks, etc. Has no electrical or mechanical problems, damages, dings, scratches or hidden defects.

I bought it when I was serving in Bremerton, WA US Army base and now I am deployed in Warsaw, Poland. It will be delivered from Washington state. I have dropped the price to $6,000 that includes delivery and handling to your address because I'm in a hurry to find a buyer. I need to sell it before February 18th when I will be leaving on military duty with my medical team, back to Kabul for a few time.

I have setup this sale with Amazon Payments so this deal must go through them. The transaction will be managed by Amazon Payments for our own protection as they act as a neutral third part, which means that you will have a 5 days inspection period (starting from the moment when you get it) before committing to buy it. If is not in same condition as I said, you will ship it back on my expense and Amazon Payments will send you a full refund. But I assure you won't be the case.

If you're interested to conclude this purchase in a timely manner email me your Full Name and Shipping Address to open a case with Amazon Payments. They will contact you to explain the entire procedure without any obligation to buy it or fees.

I don't want to offend you, but it is priced for a fast sale so if you intend to apply for a loan or financing please do not reply to this message.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Alison Rosen

P.S.: I have made a photo bucket album: http://s36.photobucket.com/user/1972...=recent&page=1

BEWARE: photobucket link goes thru possible scam site

Not no but hell no!

The name Alison Rosen sounds familiar from months back with the same type story. A search of the photo pulled up a eBay sale which I called and the true owner said he sold it overseas and saw it leave. Amazon questioned the payment service claim too. I would avoid this deal like the plague.

Note the blue wall on the garage

I reported this scam multiple times and was told too many new posts are made to keep up with. Keep reporting it because they may catch them. I would guess Allison is wearing boxers with a bulge and nowhere near a cutlass for sale. Let's f with this loser and ask stupid questions like what underwear she's wearing and the like. A boss I worked for got a call in the evening about siding and he said " that's an awesome deal, let's do it. When the guy asked when he could start my boss said right now. Come over and finish before morning because he could not wait any longer. This is how you f these guys, you string them along as long as posible ( days if you can) and then drop em to frustrate them. .. Awesome 😎

Bremerton, WA US Army base

I never heard anyone, who served in the army, refer to their duty station as US Army Base. They would call it by the actual name...Ft Lewis...for example.

But I think Bremerton is a naval base anyway...Kitsap

I grew up in that area, there is no Army base in Bremerton, never has been. They have a large Navel Shipyard but no Army facility, the closest one would be Fort Lewis south of Tacoma, a good hour or hour and a half from Bremerton. I had a situation very similar to this a few years back when I was looking at a boa. This kind of crap is very frustrating and just goes to show how careful we all need to be.
