2000 Bravada---Jerking feeling
I have a 2000 Bravada, 75,000 miles with a strange condition that the dealership mechanic can't figure out. I start out on the highway and everything is running smoothly. If I stop and start up again the car feels like it is going over the seam lines in the road. Then get up to about 60mph it stops. The mechanic hooked it up to the computer and everything checks out good. He called GM and they don't know what it is. He seems to think that it is something in the transfer case slipping but can't find it. He wants another Bravada to look at and compare to mine. It doesn't do it all the time, just mostly on the highway. He also thinks it may have something to do with the all wheel drive. Anyone eles have this problem???

My 97 has started doing the same thing at 165k miles. Starting off uphill or under any load or moderate acceleration, it will pop and clunk until it gets into 3rd gear, and sometimes when making a turn. Since Bravada AWD operates much like a positraction unit, I expect it has something to do with worn clutch packs.
However- with 165k, I'm not in a hurry to fix it as the truck itself isn't worth the expense of replacing the transfer case. I'll drive it till it quits, then I will junk it. It's been a fairly troublesome and high-maintenance vehicle anyway, especially compared to the K-car and the Custom Cruiser wagon.
