1957 rear drums

So we bought a '57 88 4 door last weekend that had been sitting in a garage for 20+ years. As you can imagine, there's some things that need some help. Step one for now is to free up the rear brakes so it can be moved into the garage. I'm having a hell of a time finding new drums that cost what I feel like drums should cost ($25-45). I don't feel like paying for shipping on something as trivial or heavy as drums with several parts stores nearby. Is there something else that would work? The shoes and cylinders were easy enough to get, so I would think the drums shouldn't be a pink elephant kind of item. 64 impalas seem to use the same brakes but the bolt circle is 4.75 not 5.0. Any sources or crossover information would be appreciated.

Thanks Larry. Maybe I'm just being an idiot (entirely possible) but I'm only finding the shoes, no drums. You have a pn?

Sorry ,yesterday I Googled '57 Olds rear brake drum and the pictures came up with Summit under them at $24? Today that didn't happen, but I went to Summit's site and put rear brake drums for '57 OLDSMOBILE and a picture came up but the price was $32.97 , I think. They are Bendix but it doesn't specify front or rear.Is it possible that they are the same on front and rear? If you click on wording (in bold letters) it will give specs. Good luck ,Larry

I've read they're the same and I've read they're different so until I get the front wheels off... I know the fronts will have the hubs on them, but I think they're the same after you strip them down. I've got a set of 95 chevy 1500 11x2.75 5 on 5 drums on order from a local supplier, we'll see if it's the same setback. The shoes are easy enough to find so I would think there's some compatible drums out there somewhere.

http://fabcraftmetalworks.com/ has them for $99 and you can get the whole housing for $279

Did you sell the car?

Never heard from you -- are you still driving the car with paper thin drums
or did you sell the car?
We all know that you are not getting these drums from any Summit, or
Advance or Auto zone, etc., etc..........
