Rear quarter panel
I just recently was reunited with my 68 Cutlass Supreme. Has some pretty good body damage to be addressed. The entire rear right quarte panel needs to be replaced. It was bondoed back in the day and is now cracking. Also has a little bit of cancer at the edges of the rear wheel wells and a little more cancer in front of the doors. Any suggestions on attacking the rear quarter panel? Should I buy an after market replacement or find another car for a donation piece to mine? I have heard the aftermarket panels do not fit as advertised?

Try to post some pics of what you've got and we could probably give you a more informative answer...may not be as bad as you think!

Welcome.
Need pics for Erik, he can tell you how to properly fix it. I would use Brillo pads, McDonalds bags and bondo myself. They always need pics here, your dog, kids, don't matter. What day did they use the bondo back then and where is it cracking? See any golden arches anywhere behind it? ![]() ![]() |

Yep
X 2 on Joe's post
Unfortunately, you've got cancer in the most common places. Been there, done that and got the t-shirt. ![]() Seems like a lot of these babies got sideways into a utility pole or some'em. The method of "de jour" was fill it with Bondo and go. The trickiest part is where the rear quarter fits into the trunk. What my body guy has done is buy the rear quarters and cut them to fit. But it's very time consuming and costly. Good Luck and keep us posted.

By any chance do you run a hi-rise construction business in Taiwan? ![]() ![]() They used stuff like that as concrete filler - paper, cans, bottles, any trash they could get. You're gonna need the premium gold bondo and cardboard for that one.
