442 W30 stipe layout for 1971 olds? (406787)

Hello all,

Does anyone have the W30 pinstripe layout prints for a 1971 W30 442? I have the assembly manual but that only references the actual layout drawing, 406787, and provides some dimensions but not enough to lay out correctly. I do not want to use the stencils, I intend to use stencil tape and layout on the car directly then paint.

BAP use to sell the blueprint (406787) but no longer carries it, not sure why.

Thanks in advance,

MLK-442

Thanks Scot but you may have missed my point in the post. I do not want a pre-made stencil. I am looking for the layout information (oldsmobile print #406787), dimensions, radius, distance from edge of steel, etc. I will lay out on car myself with stencil tape.

Gotcha, I've checked and this is the best one I could scan. I think it's going to be challenging but you should be able to pull it off.

Someone should have the hand-drawn page that's floating around out there. It's accurate in terms of measurements and shows radiuses, etc.

Anyone have it??....it was drawn up by Bob Gerometta back in the late '70's I believe. I have one but no scanner.....I can verify it and/or compare whatever gets posted to mine if you want.

I swear I've seen the page posted here or on ROP.com.

Here's Bob's email address if you want to shoot him an email... bob.gerometta@wildaboutcars.com

I looked over at the wac.com site but to no avail.

Is there any difference between the '71 W30 striping and that of the '70 W30?

Here is an email reply from Bob Gerometta to MLK-442 and myself...

"If you join wild about cars www.wildaboutcars.com the blueprints are on line at Factory Publications/Oldsmobile/Factory Technical Supplements/ 1970. If when you register, you select "Oldsmobile" as your Brand Affiliation, then when you hit your "Dashboard" (your home page), you will see an Olds logo in the upper left corner - click on "Factory Publications", then select "Factory Technical Supplements", and then the year 1970. You will see the drawings - they are half scale - but they are the original engineering blueprints. You can download the files (they are PDFs) and take it to a printer like Kinko's and have them print it out for you or you can reference them on-line - your call. Good luck. Once you have signed up - you will have a whole new world opened up to you of Oldsmobile information - tell your friends. Bob "

It is a great site with a plethora of info and clubs within the wild about cars website. I encourage everyone to check it out and it's free.
