manifold swap 371/394

i can buy the 3x2 manifold with the carbs of a 371(1957).
but wouldt they fit on a 394? pattern looks the same on picture.
and wouldt there be any more performance?

i now have the 394uh/4barrel,
runs great after i had it rebuild myself.

J-2 manifold fits '57-'58 only.

'59-up 371/394 has a higher deck height, and uses a wider manifold.

'57-'58 manifolds won't fit '49-'56, for the same reason.

Norm,

Not being literate in the early V8s, I've often wondered if the J2 could be made to fit the taller deck motors with spacers. Any info on this?

Good option for one who has some basic fabricating skills.

The separate valley cover would make it easier than one might think.
