I see torque in my future
I was in the right place at the right time this week. I was able to pick up a really nice std bore 455 F block and a 10/10 4speed crank for pennies on the dollar. 8)

Oh man!
Sorry about that crack in the block. You better just send it to me so you don't get too depressed about wasting your money. ![]() Just kidding. Awsome find though. Keep us updated.

I just picked up a complete and running 455 F motor. I am wondering if all 455's have that shield bolted in the lifter valley. I seen a pic of a 76 model (my understanding is that f is 1967 to 1971 and fa is 1972 and up) and it had that shield. the pic above also has the shield and it is the same id# as mine. I am going to use the bolt bosses to bolt down a roller lifter retainer. My father drilled and tapped his 403 block for this but he had it to a bare block. Just trying to get some info before i open a good running motor. Thanks!!!

We will all watch with interest as you build you new toy mover. Take lots of good pictures as you have done with your frame off build. Do you plan on a motor that runs on pump gas? How do you figure to get to the 500 hp figure? Good luck and a great buy

I just got to keep myself from getting out of hand. The last street combo I built was for a buddies truck. 461 BBC mild ported oval ports 9.0 to one and just a flat tappet cam. With a small YS series Vortec blower 8lbs non intercooled it made 703 HP and runs 6.50's @ 107 miles per hour. Oh by the way thats a 4200 lb truck. ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=du1GGfF9Xlg&NR=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaM7yfOwzc8
