Does anybody know what the 0.050 duration, lift, etc was for a 1970-72 auto. non w-30 442(455)?? I know the "308 cam had 232 duration and .475 valve lift at .050

Yeah, I wondered about this myself once.
I don't know whether I ever really got an answer...

See if you can chase down "cutlassefi" (Mark). He makes a living with cams. Hey Mark! Are you out there?

He sure does and would probably start off with "those old Olds grinds are pretty lazy" .

Actually, many years ago i got some "duration at .050" information on two of the smaller cams on that list:
The 400117 258/272 455 4v cam was 194/207 at .050
The 402486 262/274 350 4v cam was 196/208 at .050

With the 328 cam at 244 or so and the 308 cam at 232, maybe the 409691 286/287 cam is somewhere around 220 at .050 (?). Obviously, just a wild guess on my part.

Question

Thanks for the advice ....I was aware of the 308 and 328 cams being 234 and 244 at 0.050 repectively. I think the non 442 had timing like 215 at 0.050 but that;s a wild guess because the rest of the Olds line was Luxury and not "Sporty" like 442's. I am just curious what the stock specs were and how much they changed with the reduction of compression in 1971-72
Thanks

For whatever it's worth, I decided to expand on Joe's post, and post the entire cam spec list from the tech section, for easy reference.
I cleaned up some of the abbreviations a bit.

There are typos in 1969 and 1970 which I could not fix with certainty - if anyone can tell me how to fix them, I will.

Thumbs up

That would be nice. I was interested what equivalent camshaft equals the Olds non W30 cam.
thanks

I think Joe paid to have that cam read on the cam doctor...I don't know if that information is going to be had for nothing. On the other hand, doesn't the Mondello technical manual have cam specs for those years? I don't have mine handy at the moment or I'd know for sure.

The cam specs given are advertised. I wonder what the actual cams measure at 0.050. I know the 328 and 308 cams are 248 and 232 intake/exhaust degrees respectively. I wonder what the less famous cams duration was?
Thanks
