cannot remove my freeze plugs ,. what to do ??

so im getting my block ready for the shop and i cant get the freeze plugs out ,.. i hammered the **** out of them using methods i have read on these forums ,.. but the problem is they just will not come out !! i am just smashing the living crap out of them and thats all that is happening ,.. just bending metal LOL

any tips or tricks to get them out ?

would it be safe to drill a pilot hole in the middle if each plug and then pry it out with a screwdriver from the middle of the plug so it dont damage the seals ?

That's what I do! There are no seals to worry about.

Hammer on a socket that fits into the recess. You can go around to jar loose one section at a time.

I'd squirt them with some Aerokroil and let it soak in over night then try to pop them out with a deadblow hammer and a properly sized socket.
