Got a 1970 Delta 88 455 Motor.

What should plug gap be? Im thinking around .35-.45 correct?

Anyone know for sure?

.030 is what I always used, works fine. I think that is the official spec sheet value.

just saying, was looking throuh an ac delco spark plug catalog, says that .045 is the gap..that seems a bit big, and .030 seems a TAD small, so Im going with .035 as a sorto middle ground. Hehe Ill se if it works.

Was that for your vehicle/engine or a generic setting for the plug? .045 seems too large for standard points ignition, maybe ok for some HEI but.....

Just spoke with my local Olds Guru (Dan Sarvis...President of the South Texas Oldsmobile Club, races an unported cast iron head QJetted 1970 442 into the 11s, and great QJet guy if you ever need work done) and he says .030 is the stock gap. If you are using an HEI, you might want to go .035, but not over that.

Ok good because Ive got an HEI distributor on it. Prolly should have mentioned that early, my mistake. Thanks for the helpful information guys.
