Starter Brace

Did a '71 442 (455 engine) come with a starter brace? Where did it bolt to if there should be one on there? I bolted on a starter heat shied which has holes for two bolts. However, I had only the blot hole on the block to bolt the shield to. There was no second bolt hole.
Thanks,
Mike
