Main thing is i want to consider what fits and doesnt fiy under stock hood. I think stock intakr carb pad height is like 5" the air gap and shootout ect. Are more like 6.5-7" also was wondering ig singlr plane vs dual plane is noticeable on notmal dtiving? I had an air gap i ran on a 355 and i noticed a diff after swap ftom stock cast iron.

And unless you have a fair amount of gear etc a dual plane is a better choice.

I read in one of the 455 engine buildups a few years ago, that an air gap hurt performance vs a single plain torker . something about the same velocity in both intakes, but it took the airgap longer to move the air than the torker. Cost about 15 horsepower. In essence, the way that the 455s are, if you use the full valley pan style intake gasket, it helps defer oil splash and heat a little anyway.
