My name is David, I'm 20, I live in Idaho, and my first car was a 1991 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale. That car has served me faithfully until recently, I'm going to get rid of her now that I have a brand new Impala LS...but that's not my baby either.

My father bought a 1987 Cutlass Supreme right off the lot, and he loved that car more than he loved his old 428 Ford 3/4 ton, and I loved it just as much as he did. The engine has finally blown, and I bought the car from him a few months ago for $250. I picked up a 425 with what I believe to be 455 guts in it just last Sunday, and a TH-400 to sit behind it. I plan on working on this car for the next few years, and turning it into an awesome hot rod. No big wheels, spinners, lowering, bags, or hydraulics for this Cutlass...Pure power and style!

Me, my good friend Josh, and his father who is an Old Oldsmobile junky will be working on this car. No professional shop work at all if we can help it, all to be done ourselves. It's going to be an adventure to say the least.

*Edit: Forgot to mention..The Cutlass is nearly immaculate as far as body & interior. There's one tiny ding on the roof where a branch broke off a tree and hit it, it needs a paint job, and there's a little bit of wear on the carpet. I haven't been able to get her garaged yet, she's been sitting being assaulted by the elements for years now, but I'll have room in the shop soon. No rust!

Wayne, I'm planning on painting it the correct color according to the paint code on the tag. It looks like a really nice color of green, so I'm kinda eager to get going.

I should be starting on this in about another two weeks or so. I'll post some pics when I have them to show my progress.

Hey guys my name is Dave, I'm 41 and i live in New Hampshire i just bought a 74 olds omega hatchback 350 4bbl it has buckets and 3 speed auto on the floor it looks great. It originaly comes from Beaverton Oregon, Carmichael Oldsmobile Inc. I tried looking them up but, no luck, they must be out of business. Dave, that is one, clean, Omega. I drove a '76 for about three years or so and just recently sold it but it was in sad shape and daily driven. It also had the chevy six banger in it. I had grand plans for it and was thinking of something similar to what you own. Very nice.

hello!! I am the owner of a 1978 Cutlass Salon 4 door sedan, which I purchased for a big block powered sleeper project. here's a photo, shortly after a 430 Buick engine was installed. it has been punched out to 438 ci, and has 550 hp.

I am making sure things are upgraded so it will handle the power.(transferring a lot of heavy duty items from my former Buick.

note: engine has since been leveled, and bolted down. I'll have room for the heater box, and brake booster.

Hi everyone,
I'm Rob, owned my 1970 442 since 1986. I've gone thru the powertrain, but life got in the way and I'm now just getting around to the body. I've worked as a mechanic for 23 years starting in the military, moving onto
auto repair shops and now anything from semi trucks down to walk behind trenchers. I hope to find out as much information as I can about body work, seeing I've done very little of it.

Jeff, those heads look like aftermarket aluminum jobs, are they? I don't know anything about Buick engines and truthfully, would personally put an Olds engine in an Olds but hey, it's not my car! That engine looks very stout! Cool....

yes, My heads are aluminum, (not edelbrock) I didn't have an olds engine to install, so I use the Buick one, and yes.....it's very stout

Howdy everyone. My name is Scott (imagine that ) and I recently purchased a '74 Delta 88 Royale convertible with a 350, 88,000 miles, rust free and always garaged. It has had only 1800 miles put on it in the last 8 years. I got into this by way of a friend who puts on cruise-ins at the restaurant I manage. We just did a fund raiser for Children"s Hospital with over 300 cars registered and raised over $6,000. He ran across this beauty and thought it would be a great cruisin' car for me. I love this car. I'm sure I'll be asking for some pointers as I get into doing some things. My first priority is a new top, a little interior work (little tear in the driver's seat) and minor maintenance. Here's a picture of my new ride.

Hey everybody,

Allen here, I've got a 72 Cutlass S that I have been playing with for a year or so now. It has a 455 backed up by a 6-speed trans from a 2000 camaro and a 3.73 Posi out back. Right now I have the car torn down a bit to have the engine beefed up and go thru the trans. I'm hoping to tackle some small rust problems also while its down.

In all honesty first gear is only good for roasting the tires off the rims. With as much torque as the 455 makes it will pull its self in second at idle without a problem. Whats really nice is the .50:1 sixth gear overdrive, at 75 miles per hour its only turning 1800 rpms

Hi. My name is Dan and I have a problem. I've owned a 68 cutlass convertible for three years and have yet to drive it. It started out as a quick floor pan, interior and top job but has transformed into much more than that. I'm hoping for next spring. I'm also hoping that when I get stuck some of the more experienced people on this site can give me some pointers. Thank you in advance.
I'm somewhat slow at working on my car because it takes a back seat to my real life as a husband and father of three. For most of you, I'm sure no other explanation is necessary. Also...My garage is also quite cold these days here in CT. I'll post a photo of my project if someone will tell me how. When I cut and paste it into this message block it appears to be here but I can't see it. I'll try anyway and see what happens.

Wiggo, sorry I missed you post. Welcome to our site. Are you looking for a replacement engine that would be stock or just any Oldsmobile engine? Any ideas?

Dan, I have the same problem as you, I haven't driven my '46 project yet, every season I think I will be driving it in three months and then time passes and...........well you know. Keep yourself motivated any way you can. Get out in the garage once in a while even if you have to wear a jacket.

I am the one and only Rocketraider. AKA Glenn Williamson from Danville Vajenya. I have been in Oldsmobiles literally all my life- my very first car ride was home from hospital in 1956, in my folks' 1953 Ninety Eight sedan.

Current stable: two 1964 Starfires, a 1969 W-Toronado, a 1974 Hurst/Olds Y77, a 1976 Regency sedan are the toys. 1978 Custom Cruiser and a 97 Bravada are daily transportation. There's also a 93 F150 4x4 and a 1987 Dodge Aries in the mix. The Dodge was Mama's last car and gets 30 mpg going to work, and the Ford truck? well, let's just say that I don't consider GM capable of building a pickup truck.

People who have been around for a while may remember when I was OCA Southeast Zone director. Was instrumental in starting 5 OCA Chapters and hosting two each Zone and National Meets in the Zone, though an OCA president once told me I didn't do my job as a director. At least I didn't get caught with my hand in the OCA till!

I'm 51 years old, single again by choice, and just completed a 36x50 pole barn for the cars and spare parts to live in, out at the homeplace near Virginia International Raceway. Within three years I intend to be back out there full time- it'll take a little time to get the house like I want it.
