Alero with side/turn on fender
The black coupe pictured is in the U.S. The blue sedan is somewhere in Europe. Both have that amber marker on the fender, USA marketed units never had these. Anyone with insight?
I have a theory.

Here is my theory, I believe that these were purchased by military personal stationed in Europe and then they either were transferred here stateside and the cars followed.
Reason for my theory is, one my friends daughters went from being stationed in Florida and transferred to Oahu, Hawaii and they shipped her car to Hawaii from Florida. And repeated the process back here. This was over a 6 year time span.
Any one notice the bowtie on the sedan?

I owned a 2000 GLS for many years, so I was always aware of the few subtle changes to the Alero. I remember seeing some of the later ones (03 or 04's) and figured it was just a new feature GM added?

Would the Canadian sold cars have these but not the US versions? I don't believe it would have been all, because I only see the odd one with the lights. There are still many Alero's on the road here, most of them don't have fender lights.

There was one in the Chicago area that was at the GM Tech center in Hinsdale and don't know what happened to it.
