Leaking Aurora
Now that my 2001 Aurora is another 2 yrs older, with 68K miles on it, the leak has been repaired by me. The Dex-cool lawsuit fizzeled out. Instead of a GM shop I went to the local Sunoco service repair. The rear gaskets were bad, in fact they were very bad. They replaced all of the engine gaskets, top, bottom, rear, wherever they could find them and that leak is repaired, well under the GM shop estimate of $700.
Now..... the trunk is leaking during a heavy rain. The spare tire wheel well was full of water and the only reason I knew was a musky-mildew smell in the car a week or so after a heavy rain.
I caulked the trunk weather stripping, top, sides and bottom and am waiting for the rains again. I have heard of other Aurora's with the same leak problem. Any other clues?
