I seen many posts in the forum about electrical
problems, and I wish to pass on my experience with my 1979 Olds Delta 88. In 1992 I had my Dad's 79 Olds transported up north to me . The car had sat , undriven, in his south Florida carport for about 4 years. Although it had only 32,000 miles, the car was full of electrical problems, with malfunctions in the headlights, tail lights, horn, blower motor, ignition circuits, dash lights, and many more. I spent about three weeks cleaning nearly every accessible electrical contact in the car, including behind the dashboard. Since that initial work, I've put 100,000 miles on the car without another electrical problem, except for the electronic ignition module. The warm, humid, and salty air in Florida may be a bad case, but I suspect other places are just as bad. I used CRC contact cleaner spray, WD-40, and Q-Tips to do most of the cleaning. And, don't forget to clean the electrical body grounds wherever you find them.
