Yeah Man!
I have an 85 Delta and I'll be beefing it up in a few years. I drag the car though.
I was going to do a 455, but the extra weight added to the front end, plus the nill ava of heavy duty springs for the front of a B-Body.
You could go to
Mondello and pick up a JM 18-20 or a JM 22-25 cam but you will need to upgrade the srping valves, push rods, and the rockers. Comp Cams have smaller cams for the Olds V8 Family, if you want to keep it smaller. They also sell an entire kit with the cam, rockers, and roller timing chain and all the other goodies you need to help you out. You can get them at
Summit Racing
This info will really help you out, it's from 442.com
307 engine detail
you have a "Y" motor, they talk about putting in a cam from the "9" motor which is that from a Cutlass 442, but the best your going to get is 180 hp. with a lot of other 9 motor goodies. Spend the same money on a "395558" 350 Olds motor (1968 to 1972) and you'll have more power, and a ton more room to play with
If you just want a beefed up crusier that will probably see little to no track time, any olds 350 will do the trick
