Olds 98 Regency Elite or Touring Sedan
HI,
I'm new here. I need to get myself a full size sedan. I will use it mostly on the highway out here in WA state and west coast on I-5 etc.
What advice do you guys have for the 1991-1996 98 models?
I've driven a 1996 Regency Elite with the Series II 3.8l, wow what a nice ride on the highway, burns regular gas. I think it had a 2.84 gear ratio. Had the digital dash with computer, nice basic info but I wonder about reliability etc.
I read that this engine has 205hp.
I'm also looking at a 1994 Regency Elite with the supercharged Series I 3.8l.
It would burn premium only I assume. Has needle gauges, tach and speedo. Also has special 16" aluminum rims that look super, with the little red olds emblem in the center. I have not driven this one. I think there might be a 3.06 gear ratio on this car, not sure if they put special suspension on these with supercharged engine?? I've read this engine has 225hp.
I wonder if the extra 25hp is worth having to run premium and I imagine a little less fuel economy.
I haven't lived with either a Series I or II V6, so thought someone might be able to reply sharing their experience.
Thanks,
BillR
