Still exists, and was pulled out of storage, too

Wow, how cool.

Get it out so others can see it in person!

The son-in-law of the guy that owns it was on here or ROP a while ago telling the whole story

edit: Just went back & checked. The son-in-law was on a vette forum that was linked on ROP.

Here's one of the threads:

Sorry, but there was only one built

My father, Joe Lakatos, was part of the team that worked on this car at Joe Brugels shop in Taylor Michigan. He did the paint, spraying 13 coats of gold metal flake to cover the body. George Sanchel did the welding to couple the Toronado front end with the 442 rear. Paul Phelps did the mechanical for the car.

Even if a thread is 6 years old, it can't be allowed to be wrong in peace? The OP is gone and one of the commenters is dead....

This isn't a 6 year old "for sale' post.
It's a very rare car and anything that is added to the story makes it more interesting.

True. I was referring to the compulsion humanity has for twitching when noticing anything wrong on the internet.

If that was the case a large segment of the population would be constantly vibrating....
