Thanks! I don't plan on changing anything cosmetic on the car. All that you see has been done already, wheels and tires. Would have done original if they were easier to find. But now I have found out the car possibly was a steel wheel car so I'm glad I didn't invest in that route. I'll get some steel wheels for it as time goes by, but for now not a priority.
Can I get anyone's thoughts on this transmission? It is just up the road from me and would be an easy pickup. Appears the guy is selling $5000+ Olds engine/trans sets and also appears to know what he is doing according to feedback.

If any member here has input on the last two posts I have in this thread, please let me know. I'm really relying on you guys I know, but I'm gonna need some help on these things and appreciate all efforts!

My concern is I've never rebuilt a transmission before. If you feel that I will receive adequate help here in order to do so then I might attempt that. But in that case I would be just as well off rebuilding the OH trans that is in it now.

Update: New tank arriving today and all related hardware.
Need tailpipes, but having problems finding someone who doesn't want to sell me the whole kit from the exhaust manifold back. With those headers and glasspacks he has on there, that kit does me no good. I found someone who has the new OEM tailpipes and tips on eBay, but their price is a little high.
Finally gave in and opened the new GM parts boxes that were in the car to find what the decals are for. They are the LH and RH decals that went on the rear quarter for the Rallye 350. He must have liked the look of them. Rallye 350 wording decals were in the box too. Must have been a Carlisle find. Anyway, if anyone knows pricing on these then I'd be interested in selling them to a member here as I have no use for them. Have to admit, the Rallye 350 did seem to get the premium treatment on the decals and these would look good along with the extra hood decals. Oh well. RH quarter, LH quarter, and 2 "Rallye 350" decals included. No center decal which is part #408364 according to the assembly manual.

A couple of pics from tonight: Over the past month or so I've got the car washed (in the garage), glass cleaned, carpets vacuumed, seats cleaned, and trim done. Not show quality, but looking good IMO.

I probably need to drop back in this thread and mention that eventually I ended up posting further updates here: https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...ing-track.html
If you were wondering why there was no activity on the car lately, there has been but I have been posting in the thread above. Please subscribe to that if interested. With the help of other members, it has been determined that the car was born a manual transmission car. If you're interested, I'll hopefully see your comments in the new(er) thread.

Man!, I dig this car. I just bought some "303 protectorate". It is supposed to be good on vinyl trim type stuff, but doesn't leave the "fake" shine after use. It also contains ZERO alcohol, so the long term use will not be detrimental to whatever it is applied. It came highly recommended, however it has been too cold around here to try it. Might be a good choice for your original interior.

My w-30 is very sparse when it comes to the spatter paint. All lansing cars I own were done this way and use a dot type paint. I own a freemont ca built car and every other freemont car I have seen, has near full coverage. There are not dot type spots from ca built cars either it was more of a stringy spit out the gun application. Don't ever re-do that trunk floor!!!
