1972 442 w30

Does anyone know what the numbers should be on the starter , for a 72 442 W30

Someone is selling one and I would buy it to keep as an extra one. Were all starters the same.

thanks Bruce

From what I know, and see in my books, there was only two starters used in 72, and nothing special for a W30, same as any 455.

I merged your two identical threads. You will typically get a better answer if all responses are in the same thread so people can flag bad information. In this case, however, Harv is correct. There was a low torque starter for the 350s and a high torque for the 455s.
