Rookie here with a 442 question

Greetings everyone, great site. I'm a Mopar guy but my wife has a '77 442 that she bought new. It's been parked in a shed for over 20 years, so I will probably be here alot since I promised her I would restore it for her! The grill is busted but the rest of the body is in great shape. Here's my first question.
Will a '77 Cutlass grill work as a replacement (I found one in a junkyard)? I can't tell if they are the same because I can't access the front of the 442 yet. I'm not quite ready to start the project, but I don't want to let the grill get away if it will work. Sorry for the long-winded explanation and thanks in advance for your replies.

Pictures are worth a thousand words.

Looks like it'll fit if you take everything forward of the hood. Of course it will be very noticable that it isn't correct....

Thanks for the info C.J., that definitely shows the difference. I rooted around in the shed this afternoon and got a partial look at the front end of my wife's 442. The wasps ran me out before I could get off more than a couple of pictures. Hopefully, the boneyard will have some of the other stuff I need.

Putter, Welcome to this site. I wish you the best luck in restoring your wife's 442. I would think going the extra mile to find a replacement grill would be worth it. Personally, I like the Cutlass grill better but in your case it might be worth it to keep the original look.

/\ Definately keep the 442 look! It's that much cooler that she's the original owner

Thanks again, guys. I'm not in any big hurry, so I guess I'll just keep looking. The Cutlass grill looks good, but it just wouldn't be the same.

I've been trying to locate a front end assy for my 77 442 for several years. I can't even find grills anywhere-(that anyone will let go of anyway).
I did put a 77 nose on her for a couple of years but it seemed so ---wrong.
I just had to take it off. Let me know if you find a good supplier for parts for that car, it seems to be an odd ball. A lot of parts are interchangeable but it seems that most the parts I need are specific to that car only and are hard to find.
