Comments/questions from non-442 literate people

This may be too frivolous a subject for this excellent forum, so if it needs to be moved, I won't be offended. Two comments in recent weeks come to mind on my car:

1. My best friend gave me his one owner '68 4-speed convertible after it sat in his garage not running since 1983. My friend and I chased lots of girls in that car up and down Main St. in KC. Of course the car only has lap belts around the bucket seats. My mechanic friend (who's a safety nut) was going with me on the shakedown cruise after routine substantial mechanical restoration. He tries to put on his passenger-side lap belt, and says, Gee, you guys must've been alot skinnier back then!" Ya think??? We nearly wet our pants laughing.

2. My 30-year-old son got to drive the car for his first time over the Christmas Holiday, and he said, "Geez, dad, did you really used to race these things?" I assured him we most certainly did. The look on his face was priceless.

Nothing wrong with a little frivolity. Sharing an anecdote is just fine. I bet you raised a rueful smile on some of us who find the steering wheel a bit closer nowadays .
There are plenty of posts looking at the lighter side of life.
Check out the "Humor de Jour" thread.

Kinda like me having more face to wash over the years due to a receding hair line.

That's priceless! At least your son could drive the car...I never did/could/would drive my dad's 1931 Model A!
