Z Trim Clue - Factory Assembly N or Z Marking On a 70 442 Column

Found this on the W-30 resto I am doing. It would not have anything to do at all with the Z trim tag question? Of course, mine is not a Z trim code car!!

Never seen anything like it before. Could be factory, my guess is it's a junkyard marking. Like somebody bought the column at a boneyard. Only you know the history, it's just a guess. Is it a tilt? Maybe somebody upgraded.

It is the original to the car non tilt floor shift column. My thread on the resto will have more pics. It feels like a grease pencil type of marking.

Yup...who knows? I was looking at your thread a bit. You are doing a great job! I did see that hose on the detent switch, I think that was your thread. Definitely not original, but somebody who thought it would make the car kickdown earlier. I didn't read the thread...but see the small rusty retainer in the 1st pic for the neutral safety switch? Maybe that's a clue it was changed, like it looks like there was a switch there once. I don't know what kind of trans is on your car or what kind of neut switch there is now. Just a thought. I'll read your thread.
