Number crunching

Hey guys. Finally got the 68 442 home and got some numbers off it. Maybe you guys can help me decipher some of the deeper meanings.

Engine
396021 F
Vin unreadable mostly, grabbed the last 3 digits "935". Obviously not numbers matching.

Oil Filler Tube
1141665

Heads
G 6 (Driver side)
G 4 (Pass Side)
CFD 409 100 212

Edelbrock Carb
Only number could find on passenger side front flange
4407 2421

Edelbrock Intake
Performance Olds 445

Talk to me brothers! It looks to me that the heads are off a 1971 Olds 455. The engine appears to be cast from 1968-1972. So am I to assume they came together? A 71 455?
I can't identify the carb, I could really use some help on that. Want to know what I'm working with. I think the intake is a Performer RPM version.

And anyone out there with a 68 442, did you find your build sheet somewhere? And where was it? My car is from Fremont, CA.

Oh, and does anyone sell the rear cowl thing on the hood?

And does anyone here run a Hurst shifter for their automatic and can convince me to as well?

Thanks guys!

Hi. Here goes.
396021 "F" code from beside oil filler tude says 68-72 455.
Head codes are between exhaust manifold, and valve cover, three didgets either side of center bolt. Six didgets in all. Let us know.
Also, if the "935" matches a "935 in the last vin #'s to the car, It MAY be #'s Match. let us know what you find out.
Jim.

Sadly, the last three in the VIN are WAY off from the engine VIN. But the Heads and block seem to line up together.
