1980 442
From what I can find about these is they appear to 'carry over' the '79 H/O 2-tone paint and Aluminum wheels but with a new front fascia/headlights and with production at only 886. I've always liked the '79-'80 G-body style. Does anyone here have an '80? Knowing the build quality of these it's probably safe to say only a fraction on the 886 remain.

Built on the notchback Calais platform, dual headlight 1980 front end. The aluminum wheels were available on all 79-80 A-body cars but painted gold on Hurst- most 442 I've seen came natural aluminum. Also was the only 1980 A-body to get a 350, and an Olds 350 at that.
These are interesting cars. No powerhouses like earlier ones, but they look good and handle well. Worst part is the trim parts are difficult to find and the repro decals can be questionable quality.
And uh, 1980 was an A-body. They didn't become G until 1981.
There's a guy not far from you who's doing a 78. He's in Willow Spring.

I really would like a '79 H/O or '80 442 and they're REALLY priced right now but then I think why another car? I feel like because they're so rare, and I love the looks, that I have to take advantage of a good deal. Oh well. Greedy I guess.

Lot of 'em had 305's (all the 4-speeds) but I'm pretty sure Shawn's came with a 260. Last I heard he was going to "upgrade" to a larger SBO, which I can't blame him for doing- numbers matching or not, a 260 is just a weenie engine with no potential. I need to get with him, but his job takes him all over the world so never know when he's home.
I thought the buttless cars were bizarre when they came out, but I gotta say that compared to the jellybeans that pass for cars now, they had style.

Scots Gaelic- "Could you repeat that please?" or colloquially "Come again?"
A bheil Gàidhlig agaibh?
I'm trying to learn it, but 'tain't the easiest to learn or to speak. It's what I get for joining the local Scottish Society.
