Windsheild wipers are alive!!!!!

Not sure what's going on...Turned wipers on in lite rain... Turned them off and they kept wiping but only rising up about 4 inches... then down and then up...over and over and over... Finally kept messing with knob and they finally stopped... Any thoughts on this?

GM two-speed wipers use a reverse-wound shunt winding in the motor. The shunt winding is used in conjunction with the high speed winding to get low speed, and is used by itself to get park. Either the winding, contacts, switch, or wiring is bad. Sorry, that doesn't help much, but this is a common problem. Usually the problem is in the motor itself, but not always.

Oh come on man............. Actually, I had just left the car wash.(I know you'll love that!) You see, I have a very original 442 BUT It's only a 16,000 car. Not like your beauties. Those are killer. You have to tell me all about them on the 19th. Really hope you all can make it. We're just good ole sc people.
Thanks,
enduring

Mine sat out in the rain and snow for 10 years before I restored it this last time. That's what happens when you're too poor to have 4 garages!

Imma gonna try my condos' garage. If I could just strip the fenders, core

support. heater core and engine I'll be happy. I will forget the compressor

and I'll be super nice to the gaurds. They all love the 442 so it should go ...

no rotisserie though ...
