Heater hose routing/look

This should be an easy one. I'm hoping one of you guys w/ a 68 442 has a picture of the routing and clips/if any of the heater hoses. I know one is molded and the other, pretty much a straight shot to water pump. I'm replacing the generics that a previous owner had and want to do it correct, clamps and all. I thumbed through my Year One catalog and others but could not find a shot without the air cleaner.

The 3rd and 6th pic in the pics Bluevista linked to should work for you. NOTE the placement of the long heater hose and where it rests on the Non-AC passenger side alternator bracket. That's also where the short black foam insulating sleeve is placed.

Thanks guys, helpful.

I noticed there seems to be a mix between whether "hightower" clamps are used versuses tension clamps? My take is tension clamps were used on the heater hoses from firewall, but hightower used on the bypass tube.

Correct on the tension clamps for the heater hoses. The bypass and radiator hoses on a 68 use the double wire clamps not the post type aka hightower clamps

Here's a couple for you. Mine is a Sports coupe with no AC.

I don't have any clips. And those are the original hose's

Thanks for the pixs. I plan to tackle this weekend, have been waiting on the back ordered "molded" hose but it arrived today. I'll post the completed set up to finish out the thread for future use.

Well here it is completed. Used the YearOne clamp set and also the insulator sleeve over the Alt bracket. Hopefully, it's useful to others down the road. Thanks for comments on this thread.

Looks good, just one tip once the engine goes through a couple heat cycles go back and re-tighten the wire clamps.

The heater hose blew off my wife's car when I used one new wire tension clamp

so I put two on tight together and Jane's your aunt

Agree. I have re-filled with water for test run, but weather has not been cooperating so I have not had a chance to check for leaks. Got to admit, the tension clamps on the heater hoses have me worried. YearOne sends the same size clamp for both the 5/8's and 3/4 size hoses??? I'm not too confident that I won't have to improvise....

I looked in there catalog and didn't see it. I don't need them right now but would like to get them before you can't find them any more.

That type clamp is readily available. It is found extensively on modern cars and motorcycles. It is used in tight places where a tool such as a screwdriver cannot be used to tighten the traditional type clamp.

No chance of these becoming extinct.
