68 442 PROTECT-O-PLATE
Anyone know how to decode a Protect-O-Plate from a 1968 442 convertible.
I would like to decode the engine(code=EQ), trans(code=OH), axle(code=OPS) and accessory group(code=01113) Thanks, Kevin |

Okay, Kevin, here we go.
First, I'm not sure where you get the "engine code EQ". The engine code is not on the POP, and should be a 2 letter code that *starts* with a Q. What *is* on the the POP engine-wise would be the engine unit number. OPS rear is puzzling too. O is for the O-type Olds rear, but I don't show a ratio code for PS. Will take deeper digging! OH trans. This is the most telling indicator. OH trans in a 442 was exclusive to the Turnpike Cruiser. 01113 Power steering, no power brakes, deluxe (regular am) radio, AC, power windows VIN stamp derivative should be on engine and trans if original. |
