everyone has a definition..to me..survivor means it has survived thru time with out resto or modification..
you park that thing anywhere and people will walk by restored cars to see it..theres a whole section at MCAN and the traffic is heavy..
its a survivor to me, and how i will always view and classify them..
Its interesting how things change. 25 years ago people wouldn't give most cars like this a second look except guys like us on this board. I experience the same thing. I go to a local car meet with the convertible and people look at the car. I drive the hard top and people swarm it. I suspect it has something to do with the fact that people feel "one day I can find something like this" or "That's a car I can afford" where a completed car may be perceived as "out of reach" by many.

That's the same way I found my W-30. Posted a WANTED ad and the guy called me. Said he didn't want to sell it but wondered if I wanted to look anyway. I talked him into it. I think his wife helped, too.

I think I am as excited about it as you and its not even my deal, lol. My dad found a W-30 the same way. Ran an ad in the paper and he got a call.
CONGRATS on the treasure find, they are not often found unrestored, complete, no rust, etc. hang on to it....
I have a special request, once you take possession of the vehicle and once the dust settles, would you be so kind and take detailed photos of the San Diego Trevellyan Oldsmobile license plate frame, I have been seeking that exact one, but need photos to have someone make a close copy as my '68 Hurst Olds came from that dealership. Anything you can do will be greatly appreciated.

Ok car arrived
installed battery all the lights work,park,brake hi beam low beam.
Shot Marvel in cylinders,Oil, and tank letting sit overnight
noticed reverse lock out for 4 speed still all hooked up nice!
has orig spare with SS1 wheel still has the nubs on it crazy! Firestone white wall DOT date 14/7 cool!
bought full tune up & oil change
motor was rebuilt 9k miles ago have paper work also carb was done.
wish me luck!!! tomorrow it hopefully comes back to life!

What a sharp car and fantastic options. Was a bit confused, as the factory build sheet shows a hood lock, but then noticed on the Florida dealership work order that under dash wires were burnt. I guess the hood lock was also replaced along with the wires. Wonder what went wrong with the 442 just being a year old?
What is the TM-5 code for the rear axle noted in box 29 on the build sheet?
So the 442 went from California to Florida, and then to Arizona?
cali to florida 2nd home i think then south carolina then arizona

Interesting, I do not see where it was built on the tag...Like someone else posted really early build. My Fremont car is 00449 BF number with a build date of 09D......mine is 08D not O9

somehow the "BF" represents Fisher Body Fremont
the 0251 = 251st "34487" body for Fremont assembly
if "sammy's" car is a Cutlass Supreme hardtop .....
the 00449 = 449th "34257" body for Fremont assembly
