carb problem?
Quadrajet No 70241253
Looking down the carb I don't see any gas being shot when I actuate the throttle after it sits for a day or two.
After about a 10 second crank the car fires up.
Fuel bowls empty?
Rebuild time?
Thanks Ben

Yes the fuel wells are leaking internal and drain the carb after sitting. There is a spongy gasket in rebuild kits that seals these. It goes between the throtle plate front and center section to seal it. Some people use epoxy to seal them also.

I buy them at NAPA.
There are other reasons for the fuel bowl being low/dry after several days. According to Joe P the leaky well plugs was an issue with the early (60s) QJets and not so much with the later ones.
