Having owned and sold three 1969 442s (two of which were magazine worthy) I agree with your statement.

I would normally agree but I've been watching old car pricing in California from San Diego to San Franscisco and anything old seems to be priced through the roof. Also, there has been a little upswing in the interest in Oldsmobiles lately IMO. Thanks to BJ. I do have to agree the interest in 70-72 is much higher though.

I don't pay any attention to HMM since I dropped my subscription years ago due to the constant factual errors, so I haven't seen the article. Suffice to say that you can't confuse ASKING price with SELLING price. Actual ebay auction sale prices (where cash changed hands) for 1969 442s in good condition have been running $12K - $29K. No, I don't know how many of those were Faux-Four-Twos, unfortunately. What was the pricing in HMM?

When I sold my cars the US and Canadian $ were basically at par.

My silver 1969 442 bench seat car sold for $22500 and the gold bucket seat console car with a/c fetched $26000. I know of another low mile numbers matching no a/c 1969 442 bucket seat car that was bought last year for $15000 US and it has less than 1000 mi on its' rebuilt original engine.

I love the cars but in my experience the 68-69 cars will lag behind the 70-72 cars by 15-20% (more if the 70-72 is OAI equipped).

I've seen Joe's car up close in person. It is REAL nice. He also has a 70 SCJ Torino that is of the same quality. Cant believe he sold it. Wish I had known it was for sale! Here it is wearing SS Cragars. Look close you can see Joe in the reflection of the car.
