I have heard of both those cams being used without negative reports except maybe not extreme enough for the true racer. If you are going with an engine to be used on the street with hydraulic lifters and need to keep enough vaccum for accessories, I have heard that 500 lift is the max you want to go without adjustable valve train. Just what I heard/read.
