ct1979: My '69 came to me with an aftermarket Holley installed. It was a good performance carb for a couple years, but then the jets clogged and it began to leak at the inlet filter, rendering the car undriveable. After one rebuild and stripped inlet threads on two successive fuel bowls, I replaced the Holley with a correct Rochester QJet. It has never run better -- smooth idle and positive acceleration, hot or cold.
